What is Salmonella Copenhagen

Salmonella Copenhagen is a bacterial strain that can infect birds, particularly poultry. It can cause a range of symptoms from mild gastrointestinal upset to severe illness, including diarrhea, lethargy, and weight loss. Birds with compromised immune systems are more vulnerable, and young chicks are especially at risk. Infected birds can become carriers, shedding the bacteria in their feces and potentially spreading it to other birds or even humans. Proper hygiene, biosecurity measures, and good nutrition are essential in preventing outbreaks. In severe cases, antibiotic treatment may be necessary under veterinary supervision.

PCR (Polymerase Chain Reaction) is a molecular biology technique used to amplify and analyze DNA. In the context of Egg Drop Syndrome, PCR is employed to detect the presence of the virus in samples.
