Bird Recovery Bites

Bird Recovery Bites are a highly palatable supportive care food designed for chickens, ducks, turkeys, quail and pigeons requiring additional nutritional support during illness, recovery, injury, stress, rehabilitation, or periods of reduced appetite.

Developed by Avian Empire, Bird Recovery Bites provide a convenient way to assist-feed birds without the stress and mess often associated with syringes or hand-feeding formulas. Made with quality protein sources, carbohydrates, probiotics, vitamins, electrolytes and functional ingredients, they help provide energy and nutritional support when birds need it most.

Simply add water, roll into bite-sized portions, and feed.

Its soft texture and excellent palatability make it ideal for birds that are eating less than normal or require additional nutritional support while recovering.

Available in a 250g foil pouch.

Helpful Resources

Reduced appetite is often one of the first signs that a bird may be unwell. Early nutritional support can play an important role in maintaining body condition and energy levels while the underlying cause is investigated and treated.

Bird Recovery Bites are intended to complement good supportive care practices and should be used alongside appropriate veterinary advice where required.

Great to use and apparently very tasty

Way less sticky and messy than my DIY alternatives, and holds its shape really nicely. Surprisingly lovely smell too.
One of my chooks was feeling unwell and not eating properly, so I made up some bites, intending to assist-feed her. I didn't need to - she snaffled them right up instead! After a few days she started recognizing when it was Recovery Bite time and getting excited, even though she was still sick. Worried my girls might start faking so they get it more often ;)

Easy to use mix, multiple uses

Easy to use mix, takes the guess work out of how much to feed my sick chook when it's already a stressful time. Easy to shape and handle. I use it to worm my chickens too by mixing the bomatak in thoroughly. You may want to buy a couple of bags if your chicken is anything like my (highly precious, always sick) 5 year old brown shaver who takes a long time to recover from multiple bouts of cocci a year.
